CEREC-One Visit Restorations

CEREC is the world’s only systems for the fabrication of all ceramic dental restorations in one office visit. Using 3D 

photography, the desired restoration is first created as a three dimensional digital model.

Once refined by Dr. Marino, the model is next transformed into the actual restoration with the latest Computer Aided Technologies in both design and manufacturing, and then milled using a diamond head milling machine, which is also controlled by the computer.


Dr. Marino then simply bonds the new restoration to your tooth using a resin, and the procedure is complete, often within the hour. This technology is used by only a handful of Dentists throughout the country, and can be applied to crowns, veneers, or inlays.

Invisalign Braces

Invisalign braces can simply be described as “Invisible” braces. Your Invisalign treatment will consist of a series of clear aligners that you switch out every two weeks.

Each one of these aligners is individually manufactured with exact calculations to gradually shift your teeth into their proper place.

 

 

 

ZOOM! Whitening

This unique whitening process is the leading and most effective tooth whitening system that can also be administered in our office and completed in less than 1 hour.

The first step is to isolate the teeth and protect the gums and lips. Once this is accomplished, a specifically formulated whitening gel is applied to the teeth. The gel is then activated by a specially designed UV light that is directed at the teeth. The results are usually between 6 and 10 shades whiter.

 

Dental Lasers

Dental care has been transformed by dental lasers. Our “DIAGNOdent” laser allows us to scan your teeth with a harmless laser light and detect hidden decay earlier than more conventional methods, and, before it progresses too far. In fact, it can find 50% of the decay that goes undetected by present diagnostic methods. For those patients requiring more advanced treatments, our new soft tissue “Diode Laser” can be used to gently remove bacterial infection from the gums or reshape them without surgery. The benefits are no cutting or bleeding, with minimal procedure time and discomfort compared to previous methods.

 

 

VELscope Oral Cancer Screening

This revolutionary hand-held device provides DR. Marino and our Hygienist with an easy-to-use and fast (less than 2 minutes) examination procedure for the early detection of abnormal tissue. VELscope accomplishes this by emitting a safe blue light into the oral cavity, which excites the tissue from the surface of the epithelium through to the basement membrane (where premalignant changes typically start) and into the stroma beneath, causing it to fluoresce. We are then able to immediately view the different fluorescence responses to help differentiate between normal and abnormal tissue.


The VELscope is patented as the only non-invasive device clinically proven to help discover oral disease, in order to facilitate early treatment.

 

Isolite Dryfield Illuminator

To allow for a more comfortable patient experience during our dental procedures, we utilize a new system from Isolite. By simply inserting a soft Isolite mouthpiece, your tongue is conveniently moved out of the way, and your throat is completely protected from inadvertent aspiration of both fluids and/or dropped material. In addition, you no longer have to strain to keep your mouth open since a built-in bite block allows you to comfortably rest your jaw while the procedure is being performed.

 

 

Digital X-Rays

With this newer technology, digital x-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally store, transfer and/or enhance these dental images for better analysis. This also means that the images are immediately available for Dr. Marino to review with you as to the findings. With digital x-rays, exposure time is about 50% less when compared to traditional x-rays resulting in decreased radiation to the patient by over 80%.

 

 

 

Digital Intraoral Camera

An intraoral camera is a highly advanced innovation in modern dentistry that allows us to get a close-up view inside your mouth. Using a hand held device the size and shape of a dental mirror, we can capture a video tour of your entire mouth and display it on our flat screen TV’s. This allows you to be an active partner in understanding your dental condition, and make treatment decisions with confidence.

 

 

Ultrasonic Cleaning

To provide the best in ultrasonic cleaning, we utilize the latest in scaling technology from both Cavitron and Piezo. This allows us to utilize the right solution for our patients, while providing the ultimate in comfort and soothing irrigation during our cleaning procedures. These state of the art instruments are extremely successful in removing calculus (tartar) from both above and below the gumline using oscillating sound waves. It is a safe, effective, and more pleasant alternative to traditional cleaning methods.
